Abu The Flutemaker

Real name is William Emerson, but better known as Abu The Flutemaker. He has been making instruments out of found items – including PVC pipes – for decades. I did this interview in Druid Hill Park back in 2014. Sometimes you just get the story when it is presented to you and archive it until you can use it. Black Baltimoreans have deep roots in Druid Hill Park. Out of a million and one stories, this is just one of them.
